College is one of the most significant decisions in your life. Do you want to go to college? If so, what do you plan to major in to help you with your job? These are just a few of the exciting possibilities that college presents.
A basic understanding of college.
There are a variety of colleges with different costs. The two different types of colleges are public and private.

Public colleges are financed by the state which means that there are regulations that the colleges are required to follow. Public colleges may also rely on donations from previous alumni (previously graduated students.) Many of these schools are non-profit, which means that they are recycling the money earned back into the school to elevate the experience for the students. More expensive schools do not necessarily provide a better education. Some colleges are community colleges, which people only attend for two years. Community colleges are much cheaper than regular colleges but do not bear a school crest nor usually have as much of an assertive education. People may attend a community college and attempt to transfer over again before the junior year when rejected from their dream college,
The government does not regulate private institutes, which are separated into for-profit and nonprofit. Unlike non-profit, for-profit schools are designed to make the highest revenue possible from the students for the shareholders and executives. For-profit colleges cost even more than the usual private college, though it does not necessarily mean that there would be a better experience. Continuing, as a whole, private schools are typically more luxurious than public schools. To account for this, private schools charge more.

Determining which schools are best for you
Every college has its unique advantages and disadvantages. Certain schools are more specialized in certain areas than others. For example, The California Institute of Technology is centered around tech and engineering. While it would be a solid choice for someone who aspires to become an engineer, a future doctor would likely look for different opportunities such as Harvard. In addition, some colleges are more difficult to get into than others as they have higher prestige, meaning that more students are applying to get in. Is college even worth it?

According to pewtrusts.org, people with a college degree earn about $570,000 more than those without one over a lifetime. College is particularly beneficial to those who aspire to acquire a white-collar job or a job that requires one to use their brain more than their body. Universities educate students about a specific major for the job they are preparing to do. College graduates preside over those with no previous knowledge when applying for the job. Even though college students usually have a better chance at getting a white-collar job, blue-collar jobs may be more practical if one plans to skip college. These jobs require the worker to use their body to perpetrate tasks. These employees are not required to make many judgments either. These careers may solely require someone to perform one-week training, or read a book, to be eligible to sign up. Blue-collar jobs include construction workers, janitors, and even grocery workers. However, these jobs usually do not receive as much pay.
